Director of Science

Lhasa Limited has an immediate opening for a Director of Science. This is the most senior scientific position within the company and, as such, will have leadership responsibility for all of Lhasa Limited's scientific initiatives.

Lhasa Limited is a not-for-profit company and educational charity specialising in the development of predictive tools and associated software in the life sciences. It is a vibrant, fast growing organisation that is seeking to drive ahead with ambitious plans for development.

We are a world leader in the field of computational modelling and amongst our software, Derek for Windows and Meteor, are industry standards for toxicity and metabolism prediction. Vitic, a high quality, structure-searchable toxicology database system is already established at the core of a number of high profile, industry-led data sharing initiatives.

We are looking for someone who can continue to drive our science into new areas, creatively tackling the challenges facing our members and applying innovative thought and processes to their resolution.

The individual in this position will lead all scientific initiatives, working in conjunction with the Scientific Advisory Board, the Chief Executive and senior management of the company. They will propose and co-ordinate agreed strategies and ensure that the company is positioned as a scientific leader in the area of computer aided reasoning in the life sciences.

Educated to PhD level, you will have recognised scientific credibility and the desire to demonstrate it internationally. To be the successful candidate, you must possess clear scientific vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must be capable of interacting with our member organisations and prospective customers to understand their needs for the discovery, development and registration of new products. You will provide leadership and management of scientific research within Lhasa Limited and also be able to promote Lhasa Limited's activities and products internationally.
